Job summary

MatWorks is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage UK payrolls end-to-end. You will ensure accurate, timely processing and compliance with statutory requirements, support pension and auto-enrolment activities, and work closely with Finance and HR to resolve payroll queries.

The role requires handling payroll changes, confidential data and strong Excel skills in a collaborative, multi-site manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Processing payroll from start to finish in a deadline-driven environment.
• Handling payroll changes, statutory payments, deductions and pension administration.
• Maintaining accurate employee and payroll system records.
• Responding to payroll or HR system queries from colleagues and managers.
• Understanding data protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly UK payrolls accurately and on time, ensuring data is complete and compliant.
• Administer UK payroll changes including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime and other payments.
• Assist payroll provider with statutory payments and pension deductions.
• Review payroll input/output reports and resolve discrepancies with authorised contacts.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR and other stakeholders to resolve payroll queries.

Education

GCSE Grade C/4 English and Mathematics

Recognised payroll qualification or equivalent payroll experience
