Job summary

Axil is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Administrator to own payroll across the business. The role focuses on end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accurate and on-time pay, while maintaining compliance with UK legislation.

You will also handle first-line HR support and administrative duties across onboarding to offboarding, contributing to smooth employee lifecycle management in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing payroll end-to-end in a busy organisation.
• Experience using payroll and HR systems and maintaining records.
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation.
• Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of weekly and monthly payroll processing.
• Manage payroll changes including starters, leavers, amendments, overtime, absence and pension contributions.
• Maintain payroll and HR records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Act as first point of contact for payroll queries and HR guidance.
• Support onboarding, contract changes and lifecycle administration.
• Ensure payroll/HR processes comply with legislation and GDPR.
• Produce payroll reports and support audits.
