Job summary

Hope House Children's Hospices is hiring a Payroll and Finance Officer to manage the full payroll cycle for ~300 staff and support finance tasks such as purchase ledger and payments. The role is based in Oswestry and offered on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be proficient in PAYE/NIC, pensions, and statutory payments, with strong Excel/Office skills and a detail-oriented, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Strong payroll experience including PAYE/NIC, P11Ds, and pensions.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Knowledge of payroll and accounting software.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented approach and interest in process improvements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll for ~300 employees, ensuring accurate processing and timely payments.
• Support finance team with purchase ledger, payments, bank reconciliation, petty cash, and reporting.
