Job summary

Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith is seeking a Payroll and Finance Officer to join our Oswestry-based team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will manage the full end-to-end payroll for around 300 employees, ensure accurate record keeping and timely payments, and support finance administration within the team.

Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Payroll and Finance Officer to join our team based in Oswestry. You will join us on a Full-time 37.5 hours, permanent basis. In return, as Payroll and Finance Officer you will receive a competitive salary of £32,123 - £36,360 per annum (depending on experience).

About the Payroll and Finance Officer role:

The Payroll and Finance Officer is responsible for the full end-to-end payroll cycle for approximately 300 employees, ensuring accurate processing and record keeping, timely payments, and the fulfilment of all policy, procedural, reporting and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, the postholder works with colleagues in the Finance team to ensure effective finance administration and management of the purchase ledger. This includes monitoring the Accounts email inbox, processing payments, bank reconciliation, petty cash management, and reporting.

We are looking for a Payroll and Finance Officer who has:

• Strong payroll experience; understanding of PAYE/NIC, workplace pensions, statutory sick and maternity payments, P11Ds
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
• Knowledge of payroll and accounting software
• An adaptable, detail-oriented approach and an eagerness to contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
• Competent user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
