Job summary

Workwell in Chester, United Kingdom, is hiring for a payroll administrator to manage all aspects of payroll processing and ensure timely payments to employees and subcontractors.

You will report to the Payroll Manager and build strong relationships while delivering excellent customer service within a busy team environment. 37.5 hours, 25 days holiday, and onsite work mark the role as a stable, local opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a payroll role is essential.
  • Ability to manage the working day and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Strong attention to detail when entering data, producing reports and making calculations.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Microsoft Excel skills to a good level.
  • Team player with an ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Process employee and subcontractor payments in an accurate and timely manner taking into account agreed payment days and payment methods.
  • Process statutory payments and manage pension auto enrolment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculations of payments to statutory bodies and third-party providers.
  • Discuss payroll, administration, or tax issues with employees or subcontractors as needed.
  • Ensure accurate HMRC submissions, including FPS and EPS reporting.
  • Support payroll reporting, reconciliations and finance-related payroll processes.
  • Keep the business updated with any information affecting payroll payments.
  • Perform ad hoc administrative tasks as required.

Job description

As a key member of a well organised and highly motivated Payments team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will be encouraged to develop and cultivate effective business relationships whilst consistently delivering great customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process employee and subcontractor payments in an accurate and timely manner taking into account agreed payment days and payment methods.
  • Process statutory payments and manage pension auto enrolment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculations of payments to statutory bodies and third-party providers.
  • You will feel confident and proficient in discussing any payroll, administration, or tax issues that employees or subcontractors may have.
  • Ensure accurate and timely HMRC submissions, including FPS and EPS reporting
  • Support payroll reporting, reconciliations and finance-related payroll processes.
  • Ensure the business is kept up to date with any relevant information or issues pertaining to employee and subcontractor payments.
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
