Job summary

Martin Brower UK & Ireland is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead the UK payroll function and oversee the administration of employee expenses across the UK and Ireland. The role is based at One Park Lane, Hemel Hempstead with hybrid working and a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

You will work with Finance, HR and Operations, manage external providers such as Moorepay, Crown and Concur, and contribute to developing the payroll team while ensuring

Qualifications

• Significant payroll experience with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• CIPP payroll qualification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.
• Experience coaching or developing team members.
• Confident using payroll systems and Excel, including PivotTables and lookups.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Query (SQL) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day payroll delivery across multiple cycles with accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and Operations to provide payroll insights and support.
• Oversee Concur expense system administration and HMRC compliance.
• Manage relationships with external providers including Moorepay, Crown and Concur.
• Support reporting needs including audits and deadlines.
• Drive continuous improvements in payroll processes and systems.
• Develop the payroll team and foster knowledge sharing.
