Confidential is seeking a motivated Payroll Assistant to join our Leeds City Centre team on a permanent basis. You will learn the payroll function in a fast-paced environment and help process weekly payroll while maintaining employee records.

This junior role offers hybrid working after probation (3 days in the office, 2 days at home), study support for CIPP, clear progression pathways and a salary of £28,000–£30,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Junior experience in payroll or accounts payable/accounts assistant role.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Motivated, driven and eager to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records.
• Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Process ever changing time sheets for weekly employees.
• Ensure compliance with relevant payroll laws and regulations.
• Assist with payroll reporting and audits as required.
• Collaborate with the accounting and finance team on payroll-related tasks.
• Support month-end and year-end payroll processes.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation.
