Job summary

Portfolio Payroll is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to own a portfolio of client payrolls in a well-established accountancy practice. You will manage end-to-end payrolls, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles, while ensuring accuracy and on-time submissions.

Ideal candidates have strong client-facing capabilities, attention to detail, and experience with payroll software such as IRIS or similar. On-site parking and a collaborative office environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Solid end-to-end payroll experience, preferably in an accountancy practice or multi-client environment.
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage multiple payrolls accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients.
• Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
• Calculate PAYE, NI, statutory payments and deductions; handle starters/leavers and changes.
• Submit RTI/FPS/EPS and year-end processes (P60s).
• Respond to payroll queries and maintain strong client relationships.

Job description

Portfolio Payroll is working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice that is looking to add an experienced Payroll Specialist to its growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroller who enjoys working in a client-facing environment and is confident managing end-to-end payrolls for multiple clients.

The Role

You'll take ownership of a portfolio of client payrolls, ensuring everything is processed accurately, efficiently and on time. Responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients
• Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
• Calculating and processing PAYE, NI, statutory payments and deductions
• Managing starters, leavers and employee changes
• Processing SSP, SMP, SPP and other statutory payments
• Completing payroll reconciliations and ensuring accurate payroll records
• Preparing and submitting RTI/FPS/EPS submissions
• Dealing with year-end payroll processes, including P60s
• Responding to payroll queries from clients and their employees
• Providing a high level of customer service and building strong client relationships
• Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
• Working closely with the wider accounts and payroll teams to ensure deadlines are met

About You

We're looking for someone with solid end-to-end payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, bureau or another multi-client payroll environment.

You'll be confident managing your own workload, comfortable dealing directly with clients and have excellent attention to detail. Experience using payroll software such as IRIS and Brain or similar would be advantageous.
