Job summary

Si Recruitment is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a York-based, part-time role. You will manage your own portfolio of payrolls across weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly cycles, processing start-to-finish and ensuring HMRC and pension compliance.

You'll build strong client relationships, deliver accurate payroll services, and contribute to a supportive, friendly team. The position offers 25-28 hours per week with flexible start times and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Previous payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • A proactive, positive approach and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with payroll software such as IRIS would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Managing your own portfolio of payroll clients.
  • Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
  • Submitting payroll information to HMRC and pension providers.
  • Advising clients on payroll-related liabilities and responding to payroll queries.
  • Building long-lasting relationships by providing an exceptional client experience.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring client information is kept up to date.
  • Prioritising your workload to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge within the payroll team.
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients where appropriate.
  • Keeping your payroll knowledge up to date through ongoing professional development.

Are you an experienced Payroll Administrator looking for a part-time role within a friendly, professional and supportive team?

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice, is looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join their growing payroll team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, takes pride in delivering an accurate payroll service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you'll be responsible for processing payrolls from start to finish while ensuring compliance with HMRC and pension regulations. You'll become a trusted point of contact for clients, providing a responsive and professional service while working closely with colleagues to deliver the highest standards.
