Job summary

Portfolio Credit Control is seeking a proactive Payroll Administrator to join our payroll team in the UK. You will manage end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensure accuracy, and handle payroll queries with professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients across multiple pay frequencies.
  • Build relationships with clients and act as first point of contact for payroll queries.
  • Input and validate payroll data, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Reconcile payroll information and generate payroll reports and payslips.
  • Prepare payroll journals and PAYE reconciliations.
  • Create and submit BACS payment files.
  • Administer Pension Auto-Enrolment and liaise with pension providers.
  • Respond to queries from clients, HMRC and internal teams promptly.

  • Working within our hugely personable, supportive, and experienced Payroll team, we will offer you the chance to gain that all-important experience by managing your own client portfolio from start to finish and assisting senior team members when required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients across multiple pay frequencies
  • Building strong relationships with clients and acting as their first point of contact for payroll queries
  • Accurately inputting and validating payroll data, ensuring compliance with current legislation
  • Reconciling payroll information and producing payroll reports and employee payslips
  • Preparing payroll journals and PAYE reconciliations
  • Creating and submitting BACS payment files
  • Administering Pension Auto-Enrolment, including declarations and ongoing compliance with The Pensions Regulator requirements
  • Preparing and submitting pension scheme returns, processing member changes and liaising with pension providers
  • Responding to queries from clients, HMRC and internal teams in a professional and timely manner
  • Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practice to ensure continued compliance

  • Confident, professional, and articulate in dealings both internally with partners and staff and directly with clients
  • A natural team player with the ability to work in a team environment as well as being a self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to cope in a fast-paced environment, manage high volume workloads and deliver work to agreed timescales
  • Flexible with the need to meet tight deadlines
