Job summary

Lloyd Barnes Recruitment is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Administrator for a well-established South West accountancy firm, full-time and permanent. You will manage high-volume payrolls across weekly to monthly cycles while gaining hands-on accounts experience within a supportive and growing practice.

  • Proven experience processing a high volume of payroll transactions.
  • Strong understanding of current payroll legislation (PAYE, SSP, SMP, NI, pensions).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage high-volume payrolls for a diverse client portfolio on weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Administer the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely submissions.
  • Handle payroll-related queries professionally, liaising with clients, HMRC and other third parties where required.
  • Assist with bookkeeping duties, including processing financial records and supporting accounts preparation.
  • Support the wider accounts team with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks, gaining exposure to a variety of accounting functions.
  • Manage your own workload effectively while working collaboratively within the team to meet deadlines and deliver excellent client service.

Our client, a well-established South West-based accountancy firm currently experiencing a period of significant growth, is seeking an enthusiastic Payroll & Accounts Administrator to join their dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis.
