Job summary

Depop is seeking a UK-based Engineering Manager to lead one of our Payments squads, owning the delivery of wallet balances, re-spend, withdrawals, refunds and tax capture. You will guide architecture decisions while delivering impact and shaping the squad's roadmap.

You will partner with a Product Manager and Product Designer within our transactional experience program, ensuring simple, efficient, and reliable payments for users.

Qualifications

• Engineering manager with a track record of growing high-performing teams.
• Strong Backend background, preferably JVM, leading technical direction.
• Experience in Fulfilment or Payments, integrating with Stripe/Paypal.
• Able to span full-stack, linking BE and FE for high standards.
• Owns delivery, drives ownership and measurable outcomes.
• Tackles complex problems with data-driven decisions.
• Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Curious about AI and its application to daily work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver value and drive results with the team, meeting business needs.
• Lead and support a cross-functional squad of 3-7 engineers.
• Foster growth through regular feedback and coaching.
