Depop is looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join us permanently.

Within this role, you’ll be working in a cross-functional Payments team in partnership with mobile, web and machine learning/data science teams to drive the team to success.

Responsibilities include collaborating with managers and engineers, delivering high-quality code used by 1M+ daily users, embracing agile practices, and continuously improving architecture and processes in a hybrid working setup.

Qualifications

• Software engineering experience with Scala and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in Python and across JVM languages.
• Strong communication and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with managers, designers and engineers to design solutions.
• Produce high-quality scalable code used by 1M+ daily users.
• Engage in agile processes and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to architecture reviews and cross-functional initiatives.
• Work in a cross-functional Payments team with mobile and data science partners.
