Qualifications

• Portering and patient transfer experience preferred
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Responsabilités

• Move patients safely between wards and departments by walking, wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Use HIVE task management system and two-way radios to coordinate activity within portering services.
• Convey blood specimens, notes and X-rays between wards/departments and Pathology.
• Assist in the removal of deceased bodies from wards to the mortuary in a respectful manner and assist viewing when required.
• Convey deceased patients from ambulance to the mortuary and support after-hours transfers when needed (20:00–08:00).
