Job summary

New Victoria Hospital is seeking a highly organised Patient Service Advisor for the Imaging Department. You will be the first point of contact, booking appointments and guiding patients through their imaging journeys with confidence and care.

Join a fast-paced healthcare setting with a focus on exceptional customer service, administration, and teamwork across radiology services such as MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and X-ray.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative and appointment booking experience in a busy setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and clinicians.
  • Comfortable using multiple computer systems and software daily.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, patient-focused and approachable demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, welcoming and efficient reception service for patients attending the Imaging Department.
  • Accurately book appointments and examinations with correct preparation information.
  • Handle high volumes of telephone and email enquiries courteously and promptly.
  • Register patients on arrival and liaise with clinical teams to support their appointment.
  • Provide quotations, process payments and respond to queries from patients and staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of Imaging procedures and preparation requirements.
  • Support imaging services administration using booking and patient management systems.
  • Collaborate with hospital colleagues to uphold high service standards.

Job description

We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Patient Service Advisor to join our Imaging Department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing outstanding administrative support while helping patients navigate their healthcare journey with confidence and ease. How You'll Help Us Make Health Happen As a Patient Service Advisor within Imaging, you will be the first point of contact for patients, consultants, and referrers. You'll play a vital role in ensuring appointments are booked accurately, patients receive the correct preparation information, and enquiries are handled professionally and efficiently. Working closely with the wider Imaging team, you will help deliver a seamless patient experience across a range of diagnostic services including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Fluoroscopy and X-Ray.

  • Provide a professional, welcoming and efficient reception service for patients attending the Imaging Department.
  • Accurately book appointments and examinations, ensuring patients are scheduled with the appropriate clinician and receive relevant preparation information.
  • Manage a high volume of telephone and email enquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Register patients on arrival and liaise with clinical teams to facilitate their appointment.
  • Provide quotations, process payments and respond to patient, consultant and referrer queries.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of Imaging procedures and associated preparation requirements.
  • Support the effective administration of Imaging services using booking and patient management systems.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the hospital to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Promote New Victoria Hospital's services and always uphold exceptional customer service standards.

Desirable
  • Experience working within a healthcare or medical environment.
  • Previous Imaging or Radiology administration experience.
  • Some medical knowledge and understanding of healthcare terminology.
  • Highly motivated with a proactive and calm approach.

Part Time - 24 hours a week (4x6hr shifts Monday -Saturday)

Up to £17,553.25
