Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Patient Safety Learning Lead to oversee analysis and reporting of safety learning across the organisation. The role involves collaborating with quality, legal and complaints teams to identify trends and drive improvements in patient safety.

The postholder will create learning reports, safety bulletins, and communications, liaising with senior leaders and governance groups, and providing leadership to designated staff.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent qualification plus short courses and/or experience to post graduate diploma.
• Evidence of continuing education and professional development specific to patient safety, quality improvement and quality assurance
• Use of Risk / Incident Management systems
• Experience within a governance related area

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret patient safety learning from incidents, complaints, claims, mortality reviews and inquests.
• Identify themes, trends and improvement opportunities and support dissemination of organisational learning.
• Develop and produce learning reports, bulletins, safety alerts and other communications.
• Support the implementation of patient safety, quality improvement and PSIRF-related programmes.
• Collaborate with clinical, quality, complaints and legal teams to triangulate information and inform safety priorities.
• Present complex information and learning to Trust-wide governance groups and senior leaders.
