Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting a compassionate Single Point of Contact Hub (SPOCH) Patient Navigator to improve the patient experience through diagnostic and treatment pathways for urgent suspected cancer and new diagnoses.

You will support appointment management, ensure timely access to diagnostics and clinics, and provide clear information on next steps while coordinating administrative tasks within cancer pathways.

Qualifications

• Strong administrative and clerical skills.
• Excellent communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting patients with appointment management.
• Ensuring timely access to diagnostics, MDT discussions, clinics and surgery.
• Signposting patients to clinical advice and appropriate support services.
• Providing clear information on their pathway and next steps.
• Managing administrative aspects of allocated cancer pathways.
• Sharing clinical and investigatory information, including arranging required specimens.
• Making “good news” calls to patients discharged from suspicion of cancer.
• Completing prehabilitation screening for colorectal patients.
