Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Patient Flow Transfer Clerk to support patient movement, discharge processes and escalation activity, reporting to the Matron and working with multidisciplinary teams.

The role involves direct clinical support tasks, ECGs, venepuncture and cannulation where trained, assisting with transfers and ensuring safe patient care across inpatient and emergency pathways, contributing to smooth operational flow.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent; undertake Level 3 on appointment.
• Experience in a clinical environment with competent clinical skills.
• Evidence of competence in relevant specialist skills or tasks.
• Experience/training in manual handling using appropriate equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Computer and keyboard skills.
• Able to provide support and reassurance to patients.
• Work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Report updates from healthcare professionals to Hospital Clinical Coordinator.
• Support patients with routine personal care needs to aid patient flow.
• Assist with washing, dressing, eating and personal grooming.
• Safe transfer and mobilising of patients per policy and care plan.
