Job summary

TRS Consulting is seeking an Installation Engineer for Pathology Laboratory Diagnostics. The role involves a week at head-office assembling systems, followed by a week on-site implementing installations in pathology units and NHS laboratories.

The ideal candidate has a customer-facing field service or installation engineering background with experience in high-value electro-mechanical equipment and a minimum ONC-level engineering/electronics/science qualification, with training provided.

Qualifications

• A competent background in a customer facing field service or installation engineering capacity gained within any high value electronics or electro-mechanical capital equipment environment
• Applications are encouraged from engineers with a broad range of backgrounds including laboratory device, medical device, pharmaceutical device, ex forces engineers (medical & dental, weapons systems, radar) and a wide range of other electronic or electro-mechanical from other sectors
• Engineers with experience of the diagnostics field, including autoimmune diagnostics, immunology, biochemistry, haematology, histology, microbiology and immunodiagnostics systems are also encouraged to register their interest
• A qualification in engineering, electronics or a science based subject to a minimum of ONC level is required
• Applications are welcomed from field service engineers from a broad base of sectors, as full and comprehensive product training will be provided

Responsibilities

• The role will involve a week at head-office assembling the systems, followed by a week on-site carrying out the installation
• Install and commission a wide range of sophisticated medical laboratory diagnostic systems in pathology departments, NHS laboratories and clinical chemistry environments
