Job summary

New City College Rainham Campus is seeking a permanent Pastoral Tutor to guide learners throughout their time with us. The role includes weekly group tutorials and 1:1 sessions to set goals, stay motivated, and overcome challenges. You will monitor attendance, identify at-risk learners, and work with staff to provide timely support.

The role also involves enrichment, wellbeing promotion, and fostering an inclusive campus culture during term-time, 35 hours per week across 40 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Pastoral care experience or similar roles.
• Focus on student wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly group tutorials and 1:1 sessions to support personal development and wellbeing.
• Monitor attendance and identify learners needing additional help.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to ensure student success.
• Support progression planning including UCAS and work experience.
