Job summary

E-ACT Shenley Academy in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Manager to champion student wellbeing and build trusted relationships across the school. You will lead compassionate support strategies, work with Progress Leaders, and drive positive outcomes to empower young people to thrive.

The role is permanent, 37 hours per week over 43 weeks per year, with a clear focus on safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing within a vibrant educational community.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grades 4-9) or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the national curriculum especially core subject areas.
  • Proven record of raising standards and pupil achievement.
  • Experience of supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students.

Responsibilities

  • To support the Progress Leaders to develop strategic direction for the Year
  • To ensure that the values, principles and mission of the Academy are evident in the discharge of the duties of the post
  • To identify opportunities to innovate and bring benefit to the Academy and its stakeholders
  • To provide support and advice to students with respect to their learning, emotional and social well-being, health and safety and personal development
  • To work proactively with vulnerable students
