Job summary

Peterhouse CofE Primary Academy is seeking a Pastoral Support Assistant to help support pupil wellbeing and engagement. The role involves working with families and carers, identifying barriers to learning and acting as a bridge between home and school.

The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during term time plus one week, starting ASAP. A warm, collaborative approach and safeguarding awareness are essential to this rewarding role.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with children, families or in a support role.
• Understanding of barriers that affect wellbeing, attendance and learning.
• Confident in supporting parents and carers sensitively and without judgement.
• Organised, resilient and able to work effectively with others.
• Aware of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Passionate about making a positive difference to children and families.

Responsibilities

• Support the wellbeing and engagement of pupils and identify barriers to learning.
• Work directly with parents and carers, providing practical guidance and a positive home–school link.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to support pupils and families.
