Job summary

E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy in Oldham is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Manager to support students, improve attendance, wellbeing and behaviour, and help them reach their full potential. You will work closely with families, staff and external agencies to provide targeted pastoral support, champion safeguarding, and create an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

Qualifications

  • Educated to a high standard, including GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Experience of supporting children and young people within an educational or learning environment.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection procedures and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider inclusion and safeguarding team.
  • Positive, personable and committed to improving outcomes for young people

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted pastoral support to students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Work closely with families to improve attendance, wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Support students through challenging life events, including transitions, bereavement, family change and friendship difficulties.
  • Build strong partnerships with external agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, emotional wellbeing and social inclusion throughout the academy.
