Job summary

AMA Admin is recruiting a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker for a welcoming secondary school in South Manchester, starting September. You will support students with emotional, behavioural and personal development needs, helping them feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.

Working with teachers and the pastoral team, you will build trusting relationships, monitor wellbeing and assist with attendance, behaviour and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in education, childcare, youth work or mentoring.
• Passion for student wellbeing, behaviour and development.
• Patient, calm, approachable demeanor and strong relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding training and maintain professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral, emotional and behavioural support to students across the school.
• Support individual students and small groups with wellbeing and personal development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff.
• Help students develop confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards school.
• Monitor wellbeing and identify concerns requiring additional support.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff and carers as needed.
