Job summary

Co‑op Academy North Manchester is seeking a Pastoral Manager to lead the personal development and welfare of pupils within a year group, helping every learner to grow into a happy, confident individual. You will collaborate with KS leads, tutors and safeguarding staff to support year teams and deliver PSHE/SMSC guidance.

The role requires strong leadership, robust communication and a clear commitment to safeguarding, welfare and high expectations for student success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the personal development and welfare of all pupils within a year group, ensuring every child can leave the academy equipped to lead a happy and successful life.
• Foster excellent learning habits, independence and resilience in pupils.
• Work closely with Key Stage Leads, form tutors, the Designated Safeguarding Lead and other staff to support year teams.
• Maintain high expectations for students and deliver safeguarding and PSHE/SMSC support.
• Commit to continuing professional development for yourself and others.

Take the lead in transforming pupil experiences! At Co-op Academy North Manchester, we are looking for dedicated Pastoral Managers to guide and empower our young learners!

The Pastoral Manager is a key position within the academy, responsible for the personal development and welfare of all pupils within their year group so that every child can leave the academy equipped to lead a happy and successful life.As Pastoral Manager, you will be a highly motivated, organised and flexible individual who can enable pupils to maintain excellent learning habits and high levels of independence and resilience.

The successful candidates will possess excellent leadership, management and communication skills and will have demonstrated an ability to work with young people and their families successfully. They will be aware of some of the challenges facing young people yet hold the highest aspirations for Co-op North Manchester’s pupils. They will also be committed to and use strategies that will ensure that all pupils are given the very best opportunities to be successful in all areas of their lives

Each year group has two Pastoral Managers, a Key Stage Lead and a group of form tutors.There is a Designated Safeguarding Lead and two Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, a Safeguarding officer plus an attendance officer to support the year teams.
