Job summary

E-ACT's Shenley Academy site in Birmingham is seeking a proactive Site Manager to oversee security, safety, and day-to-day maintenance, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.

You will lead on building systems, manage external contractors, monitor compliance, and coordinate with the Estates Business Partner and Headteacher to plan remedial works and budget.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification (minimum) in a relevant field.
  • Management or facilities-related qualifications desirable.
  • Experience with building systems and security management.
  • COSHH certification is required.

  • Ensure Health and Safety regulations are followed, with minimal disruption to teaching and accurate compliance records.

Our estates professionals play a crucial role in supportingacademies across England, ensuring thousands of children learn in safe,inspiring environments. Now, we're looking for a proactive andskilled Site Manager to join us at Shenley Academy andhelp shape the future of our school community.

As our Site Manager, you'll be the go-to expert for ensuringour academy is secure, compliant, well-maintained and ready to supportexceptional learning every day.

Key responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the security and safety of the Academies contents and users at all times, including holiday periods and out of hours. This will include managing alarm and CCTV contracts and systems to ensure effectiveness.
  • To ensure that the relevant Health and Safety regulations are followed, and that the work is carried out with minimum disruption to the students learning and an accurate record of compliance is maintained using the Regional Facilities Matrix.
  • To regularly assess the condition of the premises, site and grounds with the Estates Business Partner and/or Headteacher and produce a rolling programme of remedial works and maintenance that will inform the budget setting process and will ensure the site and premises are maintained to a high standard and safe for all to use.
  • To manage, monitor and provide quality control for work and contracts outsourced to external contractors, ensuring operators comply with the terms of the contract or service requested and that they follow all Health and Safety procedures.
  • To lead on the Academies H&S meetings on a quarterly basis with support from the Estates Business Partner.

Pay range: NJC SCP 22-28: £33,699 -£39,152 per annum.

Monday - Thursday from 8am - 4pm and Friday from 8am -3.30pm

Full time, Permanent basis.
