Job summary

E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Manager to support students' wellbeing, attendance, and behaviour. You will work closely with families, staff, and external agencies to provide targeted pastoral care and safeguard students within a supportive, inclusive environment.

The role focuses on removing barriers to learning, improving attendance, and promoting a positive, caring ethos across the academy.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Experience of supporting children and young people in an educational setting.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication to build relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within inclusion and safeguarding teams.
  • Positive, personable approach with commitment to improving outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted pastoral support to students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Work with families to improve attendance, wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Support students through challenging life events, including transitions, bereavement, family change and friendship difficulties.
  • Build strong partnerships with external agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for students.

Pay range: £29,639.07 - £33,615.28 - FTE: £33,699.00 - £38,220.00 - 37 hours per week - 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Educated to a high standard, including GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience of supporting children and young people within an educational or learning environment.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection procedures and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider inclusion and safeguarding team.
  • Positive, personable and committed to improving outcomes for young people
