Job summary

Academics are seeking a Pastoral support assistant in the Telford area to promote pupils' personal development and resilience, remove barriers to learning, and support attendance, engagement, and behaviour. The role starts immediately on a 1-term contract, with potential extension depending on school needs.

Applicants should have Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing for us to arrange one), plus classroom or youth-work experience.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to arrange one).
• Classroom or youth-work experience is helpful; calm communication and a willingness to learn are essential.
• Sound safeguarding knowledge and the ability to apply it in practice.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is able to promote pupils' personal development, confidence, resilience, and independence. Provide pastoral support to remove barriers to learning. Support improvements in attendance, engagement, and behaviour. Develop positive relationships that enable pupils to feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. The role is to start immediately, on a 1 term contract, however this could be extended depending on the school's needs.
