Contract: Permanent, Term time only
Working Hours: 30 hours per week (9.00-3.30pm Monday-Friday)

An opportunity has arisen for you to join our highly focused, dedicated staff in the role of Pastoral Support. The role will be working alongside our existing Pastoral Support team carrying out a range of behavioural support, pupil welfare and administrative tasks to support students and teaching staff in the following key areas of operation in the Academy and within the community.

Retford Oaks Academy is a large secondary academy for students aged 11-18 years. Our rapidly increasing numbers mean that we now have over 1100 students studying with us. The Academy is part of the Diverse Academies Trust. To carry out a range of behavioural support, pupil welfare and administrative tasks to support students and teaching staff in the following key areas of operation in the Academy and within the community.
The successful candidate will:
GCSE English and Maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent)
Relevant and recent experience of working with young people
A thorough and practical understanding of issues related to improving students’ progress and ensuring equality of opportunity both in and out of the classroom
Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification or equivalent work experience
Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities
Experience of supporting young people with improving literacy and numeracy skills as well as development social skills.
