Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Leader to join a local secondary school in Downton on a temporary basis. You will support students’ wellbeing, personal development and academic progress, working with the Head of Year and pastoral team to foster a safe, inclusive environment.

The role may involve promoting positive behaviour, attendance and safeguarding, with experience in Humanities valued.

• Experience in a school or pastoral setting with young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Calm, supportive approach to behaviour management.

• Provide high-quality pastoral support to students, promoting wellbeing and personal development.
• Support Head of Year to help students achieve academic and personal potential.
• Develop positive, trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent source of support.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment where students feel valued and respected.
• Support students with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
• Promote high expectations of behaviour, attendance and achievement.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, families and external professionals.
