Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic Pastoral Lead to support pupil wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and personal development in a Liverpool area secondary school. The role is full-time, long-term, with hours 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

You will provide emotional and social support to vulnerable pupils, coordinate with SLT, SENCO, tutors, and attendance teams, and ensure effective interventions. Right to Work in the UK and an enhanced DBS are required, along with two references.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar pastoral/support role within a school setting.
• Ability to engage with vulnerable pupils and coordinate with welfare teams.
• Able to work with SLT, SENCO, and form tutors to design interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and social support to vulnerable pupils, SEND/EHCP pupils.
• Monitor and track attendance, follow up absences with welfare teams.
• Serve as main point of contact for parents regarding pastoral concerns.
• Identify barriers to learning and design intervention plans.
• Liaise with teachers, form tutors, SENCO, and SLT.

Prospero Teaching are looking to recruit an excellent Pastoral Lead to manage the wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and personal development of pupils within a secondary school in the Liverpool area.

Pastoral Lead

Location - Liverpool

Type of work - Long term

Start date - As soon as possible

Full time/part time - Full time

Hours - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional and social support to vulnerable pupils, students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
• Monitor and track attendance, follow up on school absences, and work alongside attendance officers or welfare teams.
• Serve as the main point of contact for parents and carers regarding pastoral or welfare concerns
• Identify barriers to learning and design individual or group intervention plans.
• Liaise closely with teachers, form tutors, the SENCO, and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

To be eligible:

• Previous experience working with children within a similar role
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide at least two professional references covering at least 24 months/cover the last 2 years
