Job summary

Pastoral Manager / Inclusion Manager role at Hedge End School in Hedge End, near Southampton, Hampshire. You will oversee the internal suspension provision and lead restorative practices to re-engage students with lessons, while supporting staff through coaching and behavior planning.

Qualifications

• Very good interpersonal skills and confidence communicating with students, staff and parents.
• Experience in secondary education and inclusion/pastoral support is desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities with collaborative professional development.

Responsibilities

• Internal Suspension Room Oversight: Lead the day-to-day provision with restorative practices to support re-engagement with lessons.
• Restorative Practice and Staff Coaching: Train staff, run restorative conversations and resolve conflicts while building relationships.
• Behaviour Support Planning: Oversee support plans for students with additional needs and develop inclusive strategies.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse provision effectiveness and report trends to leadership.
• Student Mentoring and Relationships: Mentor key students and liaise with parents and external agencies.
• Policy and Student Engagement: Manage the school mobile phone policy and welcome families at entrance.
