Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a Good-rated secondary school to appoint a Pastoral Leader focused on student wellbeing, behaviour and attendance. The role involves leading SEMH interventions, applying Trauma Perceptive Practice (TPP) knowledge, and working with staff, families and external agencies to help students thrive.

Job description

We are working with a secondary school who is graded 'Good' (November 2023) and has a state of the art building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 8 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is a popular choice in the local area, is oversubscribed, and has added another new building to meet this demand.

We are looking for a Pastoral Leader to join our team and take a proactive role in supporting the well-being, behaviour, and attendance of our students. This is a vital position for someone who is passionate about helping young people thrive both personally and academically.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with young people and motivating them to achieve their best
• Has knowledge of Trauma Perceptive Practice (TPP) and experience of leading SEMH interventions
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can stay calm under pressure and manage complex situations, including behaviour incidents, with empathy and professionalism
• Has a genuine commitment to supporting student's personal development, well-being and safeguarding
• Is confident working with staff, families and external agencies to support students
• Can use data or is willing to develop skills to track and improve behaviour and attendanceli>
• Works well as part of a team and can also use their initiative to make a positive impact
