Job summary

Notley High School and Sixth Form invites applications for an outstanding Pastoral Manager to lead proactive pastoral care, promoting student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and engagement.

You will work with Raising Standards Leaders and school staff to build strong relationships with students and families, monitor attendance, deliver targeted interventions for emotional and behavioural needs, and uphold safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral or youth work within an educational setting.
• High emotional intelligence and professional confidence to work with vulnerable students.
• Ability to lead structured interventions around behaviour and mental wellbeing.
• Resilient, calm under pressure and able to manage difficult conversations.

Responsibilities

• Promote high standards of behaviour and student conduct around the school.
• Build supportive relationships with students and families and monitor attendance.
• Deliver or coordinate targeted interventions for emotional and behavioural needs, including multi-agency coordination.
• Uphold safeguarding procedures and support vulnerable learners.

About the role:

Notley High School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Pastoral Managerto join our committed and caring pastoral team. This is a key role in ourschool, responsible for ensuring high standards of student wellbeing,attendance, behaviour, and engagement. You will work closely with our RaisingStandards Leaders and other key staff to ensure all students feel safe,supported, and empowered to succeed.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Acting as a highly visible and approachablepresence around school, promoting high standards of behaviour and conduct
• Building strong, supportiverelationships withstudents and their families
• Monitoring and improving attendance, includingfirst-day calls and regular home visits
• Delivering or coordinating targeted interventions to support students with emotional and behavioural needs (e.g. angermanagement, anxiety support)
• Working closely with external agencies and leadingon multi-agency meetings (e.g. Early Help, TAF)
• Upholding safeguarding procedures and supportingvulnerable learners

We are looking for someone who:

• Is experienced in pastoral or youth work,particularly in an educational setting
