Job Title: Pastoral Support Assistant

Salary: Up to £22,500 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm including 1 x 5pm finish

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Bricklehurst Manor School located in Stonegate.

About the role

To assist the Pastoral Support Team in developing the school as a high-quality specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, including pupils diagnosed with autism or demonstrating behaviors associated with autism. This involves providing high standards of pastoral care in a safe and orderly environment, supporting behavior management, and safeguarding the welfare of young people. All duties are carried out under the supervision of the Headteacher.

  • Provide support, encouragement, and pastoral care to pupils;
  • Work with stakeholders, parent/carers, support staff, onsite therapy team, outreach agencies, and other schools to ensure pupil development and progress;
  • Support the school’s responsibility to promote the learning, personal development, and well-being of all students.
General Responsibilities
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils;
  • Work in accordance with professional practice, statutory and legal requirements, and school policies;
  • Assist with the day-to-day administration and organization of the school;
  • Establish a positive learning environment with well-managed behavior and supportive social, emotional, and learning needs;
  • Support the Headteacher in implementing the school’s behavior and inclusion strategies;
  • Record relevant educational, social, and behavioral information;
  • Promote social and emotional development through positive approaches;
  • Take responsibility for specific areas of work, reviewed annually within the performance management cycle;
  • Contribute to the school community;
  • Take on additional responsibilities as determined.

Bricklehurst Manor School is a new independent special educational needs school for up to 60 pupils with social, emotional, mental health, autism, and other complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new setting and make a difference.
