Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for Pastoral Support in SEN Schools across Northamptonshire for both day-to-day and long-term supply.
Here at Hays, we work with numerous schools across Northamptonshire, covering areas such as Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and surrounding regions. This means as a Teaching Assistant working through Hays, you will have local work opportunities in your preferred areas, focusing only on the schools you choose.
Your new role
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team as soon as possible on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a term-time-only role. We seek exceptional individuals to work with exceptional pupils who have various additional needs, supporting their education.
We are looking for people who thrive in challenging yet rewarding school environments, are passionate about developing social, life, and independence skills, and genuinely want to make a difference in young people's lives.
The successful candidate will have a positive impact on children with diverse care needs, life experiences, and personalities, making each day varied and engaging. You will be able to build trusting relationships with students, motivate and encourage them, and provide individual attention, reassurance, and support with living and learning tasks as appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
You should be an experienced Teaching Assistant or youth worker passionate about student progress and committed to helping pupils achieve their academic potential. SEMH or SEN experience is essential.
You will need to be flexible and adaptable to new environments, enjoy working with children from diverse backgrounds, and aim to make each lesson memorable for those you support.
