Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a compassionate Pastoral Support Assistant to help young people with complex emotional and behavioral needs. Role: Pastoral Support Assistant

You’ll help us meet our young peoples’ emotional needs. Our young people have challenging complex emotional and behavioural needs [Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health] and need more support than most. You’ll ensure they receive high standards of care by working with families and developing individual programs. Through careful assessment and planning, you’ll create a positive learning environment where every young person can thrive.

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience working with young people with BESD or ASD in a school or care setting
  • Understanding of developmental needs and pastoral care
  • Good listening skills, motivation, teamwork, and ability to inspire young people
  • Flexibility and organizational skills

Candidate Profile
  • Experience with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH pupils and working with families in challenging circumstances
  • Knowledge of legislation, safeguarding, and child protection policies
  • NVQ Level 3 in Care or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
