Role Overview: As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will support and develop the personal, social, and health education of students requiring pastoral support. Your responsibilities include responding to 'at risk' indicators, developing action plans and target settings, and utilizing internal and external support agencies.

You will proactively support students' achievement by addressing their pastoral and welfare needs, including rapid interventions for disengaged students, and prepare learners for employment and active citizenship beyond their time at The Manchester College.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Qualified to at least Level 3 in Education, Social Care, Mentoring, Youth Work, Counselling, or Advice & Guidance.
  • Effective use of ICT systems and programs.
  • Experience supporting learners in educational settings, preferably FE/HE.
  • Experience working with 16+ students, including adults.
  • Experience providing support for academic, personal, social, and health development.
  • Experience in motivating and implementing effective change through targeted and universal pastoral interventions or attendance improvements.

Benefits:

  • 35 days paid annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Free breakfast.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Simply Health care vouchers.
