Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking part-time transport staff to accompany SEND pupils on daily routes within and beyond the Wigan borough.

Contracted taxis will collect you from home and ensure safety, with morning drop-off and afternoon pickups on a split shift typically 7:30–9:00 and 14:30–16:00, five days a week.

You must have an Enhanced DBS dated within the last year or be on the update service; training is paid and starts before you begin.

Job description

Do you have a passion for working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including learning and physical disabilities, who require transport to schools both inside and outside the Wigan borough each day using a split shift? If so, this may be the job for you!

A contracted taxi will collect you from home before picking up the children on your route. You could be working on a one-to-one basis with a child/young person or working with several children/young people who are transported to school on minibuses/coaches. As part of this statutory service, you will be responsible for the safety, well-being, and comfort of the children/young people during transit, ensuring all passengers arrive at their school/college ready to learn and enjoy their education. You will cover the morning drop off and afternoon pick ups on a split shift bases, working Monday to Friday, exact start and finish times will depend upon the routes but usually 7.30am - 9am and then again at 2.30pm - 4pm (15 hours per week).

Due to the almost immediate start dates - you will need to already hold an Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or be on the online update service, covering both childrens and adults due to some routes possibly covering the 16-19 age range. Training/induction times would be paid and completed prior to starting.

These are ongoing temporary roles until the Christmas holidays, but could be extended into the New Year.
