Job summary

Igloo Ltd is recruiting a Parts Operative for a busy automotive operation in Thurleigh. You will manage stock, issue components to the workshop, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires IT literacy, attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience in parts or workshop environments is desirable, with Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate stock levels and update the stock system.

• Replenish consumables to support workshop operations.
• Receive incoming parts and perform receipting and records.
• Maintain records of parts and stock movements.
• Provide cover for team during absences.
• Keep the workspace clean and safe.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Parts Operative to join a busy automotive operation in Thurleigh. This is a varied role supporting the workshop through the efficient management, storage and distribution of vehicle parts and consumables.

The successful candidate will be organised, IT literate and comfortable working in a busy environment where accuracy and good stock control are essential.

The Role:

As a Parts Operative, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate stock levels and updating the internal stock management system.
• Storing parts in designated areas and issuing components to the workshop as required.
• Carrying out stock counts and investigating any discrepancies.
• Processing parts orders and returns, ensuring all relevant documentation and system records are completed.
• Monitoring and replenishing consumable stock to support workshop operations.
• Receiving incoming parts and completing the relevant receipting and system processes.
• Maintaining accurate records of parts and stock movements.
• Supporting the wider team and providing cover during periods of absence.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

The Person:

• Previous experience in a parts, stores, workshop or dealership environment is desirable.
• Good IT skills and confidence using internal systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Able to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Confident identifying and resolving stock-related issues.
• Reliable, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
