Job summary

Apex Resource Management is looking for a Stores Operative to join a fast-paced logistics team in a bespoke automotive environment near Daventry/Banbury. You will support receipt, storage, control and movement of parts, maintaining stock accuracy to back production and restoration activities.

Your role involves goods-ins, checks, locating stock, picking and packing, and using SAP or Sage for inventory management. This is a long-term contract with room to grow within a quality-focused operation.

Qualifications

  • Warehouse/store experience required.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (SAP or Sage).
  • Strong numerical literacy and attention to detail.
  • Automotive parts experience is advantageous.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Able to undertake manual handling and heavy lifting.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Logical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing demands.
  • Comfortable in a busy, quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming parts and manage the goods-in process efficiently.
  • Check and verify incoming goods and report discrepancies.
  • Locate and store parts within the storage facility.
  • Pick parts and prepare component kits for operations.
  • Operate barcode and stock control systems to maintain records.
  • Bag, label and package parts ensuring protection and clarity.
  • Prepare parts on trolleys with manifests.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and investigate discrepancies.
  • Record and report shortages.

Stores Operative

Rate: £14.00 - £14.92 per hour PAYE / IRO £30,000 - £32,000 per annum

Location: Near Daventry / Banbury

Ongoing long‑term contract

Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stores Operative to join a fast‑paced logistics team within the automotive sector. Working within a high-quality, bespoke automotive environment, you will support the effective receipt, storage, control and movement of parts and components.

The Stores Operative will play an important role in maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring parts are available to support vehicle production and restoration activities.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming parts and manage the goods-in process efficiently.
  • Check and verify incoming goods, identifying discrepancies and communicating these to the purchasing team.
  • Accurately locate and store parts within the designated storage facility.
  • Pick individual parts and prepare component kits to support operational requirements.
  • Operate barcode and stock control systems accurately to maintain inventory records.
  • Bag, label and package parts appropriately, ensuring components are protected and clearly identified.
  • Prepare parts on trolleys with the appropriate manifests.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and investigate or escalating inventory discrepancies.
  • Accurately record and report shortages.
Requirements Of The Role
  • Previous warehouse or stores experience.
  • Experience using warehouse management and stock control systems, such as SAP or Sage.
  • Strong numerical literacy and attention to detail.
  • Automotive parts and accessories experience is advantageous, although experience within other niche manufacturing environments will also be considered.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and regular heavy lifting.
  • Strong data analysis skills to support effective decision-making.
  • Logical and effective approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
  • The successful Stores Operative will be comfortable working within a busy, quality‑focused environment.
