Job summary

Google in London is seeking a Product Technology Manager (Customer and Partner Solutions Engineer) to serve as the technical bridge between Google and the global commerce ecosystem. You will enable retailers, aggregators, and platforms to integrate with Google's commerce products via the Universal Commerce Protocol, Merchant API, and Google Business Profile API.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in computer engineering, software development, or building technical tools, including writing code to create solutions.
• 3 years of experience in a consulting, partner engineering, or client-facing technical role.
• 3 years of experience in operations management (e.g., process improvement, operational reviews, workflow optimization).
• Experience with web technologies (HTTP/REST, JSON) and programming in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Java.
• Experience working with e-commerce platforms, APIs, webhooks, or merchant integration ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for early-stage retailer pilots in EMEA, providing technical guidance, architectural reviews, and integration support.
• Develop code samples, technical tools, and integration recipes on developers.google.com to expedite partner testing and validation.
• Provide high-touch technical subject matter expertise, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for strategic retail partners within defined service level agreements.
• Collaborate closely with Core Engineering and Product Management teams across California, London, and Zurich to test new protocol capabilities and harden specifications.
• Synthesize pilot edge cases, partner telemetry, and technical feedback to advocate for product and feature improvements backed by data.
