Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council's Community Learning and Development Service is seeking a part-time Community Learning and Development Assistant (15 hours per week) to join the Youth and Communities Team in Aboyne. The role contributes to delivering local learning opportunities in line with identified needs and national priorities.

You will create and deliver youth work and community development activities, engaging with communities to help young people overcome challenges using a CLD approach.

Qualifications

• This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
• The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
• A confirmed offer of employment is subject to pre-employment checks.
• Minimum one reference from current or most recent employer.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver youth work and community development opportunities in line with Council priorities.
• Support young people to overcome challenges and develop a wide range of skills through early intervention.
• Engage with local communities and organisations to address inequality using a CLD approach.
