Job summary

Moray Council in Scotland seeks an enthusiastic youth development worker to support young people and vulnerable young adults through learning opportunities and community projects. You will work in schools and with partners to deliver accredited activities, monitor progress, and promote wellbeing.

PVG disclosure is required and the post is temporary until 31 March 2027, with a starting salary of £29,519 (pro rata).

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people in school or community settings.
• Experience delivering accredited opportunities.
• SQA Standard Grades or equivalent at level 3+ including English and Maths.
• Excellent recording and administrative skills.
• Ability to travel between Moray sites by car/van.
• Confidentiality and professional conduct.
• ICT literate and able to use social media for engagement.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners to identify and engage with young people who have experience of care.
• Develop activities and programmes which build skills, support health and wellbeing.
• Plan, record, review and evaluate all work undertaken with young people in accordance with Moray Council Quality Assurance Framework for Community Learning & Development.
• Participate in staff meetings and training events as deemed appropriate by line-management.
• Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures of Moray Council.
