Job summary

St Luke’s Hospice (Basildon) is seeking a Part Time Van Driver / Warehouse Assistant for a 22.5-hour week across 3 days. The role involves safely transporting goods, donations, and equipment, with flexible days and occasional weekends. You will work from Basildon Warehouse, serving the local community with compassionate care.

The position requires a full UK driving licence (manual), good communication, and a reliable, team-focused attitude to support hospice operations and patient care.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence (including manual vehicles).
• Ability to carry out safe manual handling and lifting duties.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a hospice vehicle to collect and deliver goods across sites and in the community.
• Support loading and unloading of items with safe handling.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Provide compassionate service to donors, supporters, patients, and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records of collections, deliveries and mileage.
