Job summary

Ayrshire Hospice Limited is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support the donation processing and order preparation from our Ayr charity shop network. The role involves heavy lifting, handling donations, and helping customers with larger items.

You must hold a full UK driving licence (clean) and be at least 25 to drive vans, with good physical fitness and reliable attendance. Training and safeguarding policies apply as part of our hospice service.

Qualifications

• Full and clean UK driving licence.
• Must be at least 25 years old to drive vans.
• Fit and able to perform heavy lifting and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Take in donations from the public
• Identify Gift Aid donors
• Segregate donations for distribution
• Prepare orders for other stores
• Support shop floor team with the moving/building of furniture items when required
• Help customers with larger items they have purchased
• Stock preparation when required (including sorting, steaming and pricing)
• General housekeeping duties
• Refer any enquiries, requests or complaints to the most suitable person in a professional manner
• Attendance at relevant training and team meetings
• Adherence to the relevant policies and procedures of the hospice.

Job description

Please note: This role requires a full and clean UK driving licence. You’ll also need to be at least25 years of age to drive our vans and be required toregister your driver details on our Grey Fleet portal.
