VSA in Aberdeen is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join the St Aubins (Registered care home - Mental Health Service) team on a part-time, permanent basis. This rewarding role involves providing professional and trauma informed support to our service users.

Prior experience of working with individuals living with mental illness is essential, and the post includes a fixed rolling rota with late/early shifts and occasional sleepovers with an additional sleepover allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with challenging behaviour.
• Experience of lone working
• Experience of Trauma informed practice
• Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
• Membership of the PVG scheme
• Willingness and ability to achieve SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare within 3 years of appointment or as determined by VSA.

Responsabilités

• Communicate effectively with individuals and update records in line with guidelines.
• Help to provide a safe environment by following infection prevention, health and safety procedures, including medication management and safeguarding.
• Support service users with daily living and personal care, delivering trauma-informed practice with dignity and respect.
• Support service users to develop and maintain positive social networks and relationships.
• Promote independence and skills development with reference to risk assessments.
• Participate in developing, implementing and reviewing recovery-focused plans with service users.
• Provide emotional support during changes and transitions.
• Engage in supervision, appraisal, and staff meetings to improve services and VSA overall.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as required.
