Job summary

The Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a well-organised Ward Clerk to join Ward G5 on our Transplant Unit. This part-time role (24 hours across Mon, Thu, Fri) requires excellent communication, IT and customer care skills to support patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.

You will manage front-desk duties, maintain patient flow in Epic, and help with orientation for new staff while upholding dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good IT skills with ability to use Microsoft Office and patient records systems.
• Strong customer care orientation and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet patients, visitors and staff on the ward.
• Answer the telephone and relay messages accurately.
• Maintain effective communications between patients, relatives and the team.
• Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure clear ward communications.
• Support orientation of new staff within the ward clerk remit.
• Uphold privacy, dignity and confidentiality of patients and colleagues.
• Keep Epic System up to date for capacity (admissions, discharges, transfers).
