Lift St James the Great is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support pupils in accessing learning and building confidence, with duties across 1:1 and small-group interventions.

You’ll work with teachers to plan, deliver and assess lessons, help create an inclusive classroom, and support wellbeing and personal development. Training to Level 3 is provided, with clear routes to Level 5 and teacher training.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in maths and English (grade 4 or above) or willingness to work towards functional skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy and resilience when supporting a wide range of pupils and situations.
• Willingness to learn, grow and seek feedback to improve your practice; basic IT skills and understanding of how children learn.

Responsabilités

• Support pupils to access lessons and achieve learning goals, including those with SEND.
• Help pupils build independent learning skills and manage their own progress.
• Work alongside teachers to plan, teach and assess high-quality lessons.
• Guide individual pupils and small groups through targeted interventions.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and support them with their behaviour, wellbeing and personal care; and
• Work with teaching staff, pastoral teams, the SENCO and families to help every child thrive.
