Job summary

Sense College Streatley is seeking a reliable Support Worker to assist young people and adults with complex disabilities in accessing learning and developing independence. The role is permanent and part-time, 21 hours weekly (Wed-Fri, 8:45am-3:45pm) at Sense College Streatley with a salary of £13 per hour.

You will provide person-centred support according to each learner’s plan, addressing diverse needs and enabling participation in meaningful activities.

Qualifications

• Previous caring or support experience.
• Ability to drive is essential for this role.
• Ability to swim and support learners in the hydrotherapy pool.
• Strong communication skills, including use of signs and symbols.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support tailored to each learner's plan.
• Support learners to participate in activities and access their local community.
• Encourage independence and ensure each learner has a voice in how they are supported.
• Assist learners with mobility, health, wellbeing and personal care as needed.
• Support learners to participate in meaningful activities, including hydrotherapy sessions.
